How training changed my life.

Over 2 years ago I had two hip replacement operations within 8 weeks of each other. This is not special, I am sure there are many others that have had to do the same BUT, my body decided to react to the shock and left me with nerve damage in both legs and feet. It took me around 6 months to be able to walk unsupported and the last 12 months I have had little feeling in my feet giving me difficulties with balance.
So what's this got to do with Les Slinn Personal Training I can hear you ask. Well 12 months ago I started training with Les and he has concentrated on improving my balance and strengthening my core and overall fitness which if you have seen me needs a lot of attention.
During those 12 months I have made great improvements with my balance and have found biking and running on the treadmill a good source of exercise and sometimes enjoyable.
I have decided to join Les Slinn's running beginners group when the next training session happens and are now participating and enjoying cycling sportive's.
Why am I mentioning this now? I yesterday visited my nerve specialist ( Mr Lennox ) who reviewed my situation those 2 years ago and did the same tests again. His view is my nerves have recovered from being damaged from the knee down to be partially damaged from the ankle down. Some 80% improvement he believes.
When I told him that I had been attending a personal Trainer his words were :- "Whoever the Trainer is he has done a great job, continue with the work, it is making the difference"
So thanks Les I really appreciate you knackering me out on a weekly basis, I am hopeful that in another year's time with Les's help perhaps my nerves will have returned to normal.
