We chose to train as a couple as we’re both rather competitive and believed that training together would help us to challenge and encourage each other.

We started training with Les in August 2016 - we’d become rather ‘comfortable’ in our relationship and had both got a little tubby! Though I enjoyed running and Jon had always been a keen swimmer, we struggled with the ‘get up and go’ to really make a difference. We realised that getting someone on our case, to motivate and encourage us, would be the boost we needed.
We chose to train as a couple as we’re both rather competitive and believed that training together would help us to challenge and encourage each other. We’re wildly different in terms of fitness, ability and build but Les has been fantastic at creating fitness challenges that suit both of us and have driven us towards our goals. No training session is ever the same as another and he’s always coming up with new activities and challenges to keep you on your toes!
For me, in particular, training and getting fit has been life-changing. In December 2017, just as I reached my ideal goal weight and was truly happy with my fitness level, I got pregnant. I continued to train during my pregnancy, which enabled me to stay fit and healthy throughout and regulate my weight gain. I felt comfortable that Les would look after both of us, and he seamlessly tailored our sessions so that I was still challenging myself but in a safe and appropriate way. At 36 weeks pregnant (sporting a rather large bump!) we agreed that I should rest up before my due date and I weighed in for a last time... I was exactly the same weight as when I had first started training! Despite carrying a larger baby (for my small frame) I was very lucky to have the natural birth I hoped for. On more than one occasion midwives asked me whether I worked out - they told me that continuing working out throughout my pregnancy had been a massive benefit during labour.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend training with Les - whether you’ve got a fitness goal in mind, a challenge to complete or just want to get in shape, he will motivate, inspire and support you every step of the way.
